Frank Ocean’s album Channel Orange (2012) is the main inspiration for this pair, from his poetic lyrics, music videos and vivid narration. Ocean is pictured with multiple expressions which represent the wide range of emotions that highlight the human experience and how we are constantly evolving. From challenging hypermasculinity to questioning self worth, Pair XI and the album voice my anxieties about the past, present and future.
